Shackle is Anne La Berge on flute and electronics and Robert van Heumen on laptop-instrument. Their aim is to explicitly and subtly exploit shackling in both concept and material.

Shackle Tour: Wrapping up

by Robert on October 9, 2012

Anne is back in Amsterdam now, so it’s time for a wrap-up. The Shackle Tour to New Zealand, Australia, and Brazil was a great succes! Our performances were received very well and judging from the responses after workshops and concerts I believe we inspired quite a few people. We hope to meet you again sometime somewhere.

We met a lot of lovely folks, stayed in their houses, had some great meals and wonderful conversations. Without you we wouldn’t have been able to organize our trip around the world. We’d like to thank all of you! You know who you are, but I’ll try to make a complete list: Zoe Drayton, Jeff Henderson (Auckland, NZ), Dugal McKinnon (Wellington, NZ), Donna Hewitt & Julian Knowles, Mike Howlett, Phil Graham (Brisbane AUS), Christian Haines & his mom, Stephen Whittington (Adelaide, AUS), Janet McKay, Patrick & Judy Nolan (Brisbane, AUS), Susannah Provan, Adrian Sherriff, Sean Baxter (Melbourne, AUS), Laura Altman, Maria & David Altman, Ian Stevenson, Michael Smetanin, Jeremy Tatar, Cor Fuhler & Anna McMichael (Sydney), Raquel Dammous, Juliano Gentile, Luca Panhota Alves, Tiago de Mello (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Lucas Rodrigues Ferreira, Jonatas Manzolli and José Mannis (Campinas, Brazil), Eduardo Monteiro and Rodrigo Cicchelli Velloso (Rio, Brazil), Cees de Bever, Carolyn Muntz, Performing Arts Fund NL (back home) and of course all workshop participants and the people who came to hear us play! Last but not least (oh no no no) our families and friends back at the ranch for taking care of the herd!

Back to ‘normal life’ now. That’ll be a challenge.
